Creation Of Tasty
If your Facebook feed was ever overrun by top-down cooking videos, I’m sorry – it’s my fault.
I, along with a very talented team, created Tasty, a digital food brand that now has over 100M followers on Facebook and 20M YouTube subscribers.
I oversaw the launch, creative direction, bringing it to market, and the brand’s international expansion to seven countries (including hiring and managing teams around the world).
Our initial launch goal was 500k FB page likes within the first month. We surpassed 1M, and kept growing from there.
After a year of staggering growth, I expanded Tasty globally and recruited, hired, and managed video production teams in London, Sydney, and Tokyo. We were able to scale quickly and effectively by standardizing our production process — we knew the exact square footage, equipment, and time needed to create a successful video so we could provide new teams around the world with essentially a starter pack.
In addition to managing the production side, I also helped Tasty generate significant revenue. I worked with BuzzFeed’s sales team to establish product placement packages and often presented to advertisers, including Target, Mondelez, and Nabisco. In 2016, Tasty drove over 50% of BuzzFeed’s revenue.
